Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a ROW Specialist to establish and maintain positive relationships with landowners, municipalities, and agencies, while negotiating and enforcing land agreements to protect company assets. The role may require up to 10% travel and may relocate to multiple locations including La Palma, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, or San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of related pipeline or ROW experience (contract land agent, in-house ROW or pipeline operations, pipeline project management experience, or title research or documentation) required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and resolve disputes to avoid legal action and media attention.
• Manage encroachments near company assets to protect them and preserve rights.
• Interpret agreements and easements, enforce restrictions or rights, grant encroachment variances, and interface with field personnel, Law, and Management on executed agreements.
• Support project work by negotiating and securing pipeline rights-of-way, surface leases, easements, permits, and related agreements.
• Serve as a support contact for Community Relations, compensation, and claims handling within the Incident Command Structure for Emergency Response efforts.
• Negotiate and issue damage payments with stakeholders.
• Provide consultative advice in developing Public Awareness information, policies, plans, and programs, and participate in Public Awareness presentations and Public Engagement events.
