Job summary

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a ROW Specialist to establish and maintain relationships with landowners, municipalities, and agencies, negotiating and enforcing land agreements while protecting company assets. Travel may be required (10%, up to 25% if outside La Palma office).

The role involves coordinating with landowners, contractors, and internal teams to secure pipelines, rights-of-way, and related permits, plus supporting Emergency Response and public engagement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of related pipeline or ROW experience required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and resolve disputes to avoid legal action and media attention.
• Manage encroachments near company assets to protect them and preserve rights.
• Interpret and enforce agreements and easements; grant variances and coordinate with field, Law and Management on executed agreements.
• Support pipeline rights-of-way, surface leases, easements, permits and related agreements to support scope of work.
• Act as a support contact for Community Relations, compensation and claims handling within the Incident Command Structure for Emergency Response.
• Negotiate and issue damage payments with stakeholders.
• Provide consultative input for Public Awareness information, policies and programs and participate in Public Awareness presentations.
