Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks a Right of Way Director to lead the ROW department in the Northeast U.S. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and drive client relationships with high professional standards.

The role emphasizes strategic direction, marketing capabilities, and coordination across internal teams to deliver complex ROW projects. A minimum of 15 years in ROW with supervisory experience is required, plus a real estate license or plan to obtain one within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-related Right of Way work experience.
• 15+ years in land, right of way, easement acquisition, title research, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of ROW supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ROW, including project management, acquisition, title, permitting, budgeting, and due diligence.
• Experience in managing financial, marketing, HR, and operations of an engineering department.
• Experience reading construction/engineering plans.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with databases.
• Valid driver's license in applicable state; multilingual a plus.
• Real estate license or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct Right of Way department strategy, budgeting, staff, and deliverables.
• Market Bowman capabilities to gain new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
• Supervise ROW project personnel and ensure high professional standards.
• Meet with clients, prepare proposals, and manage budgets/schedules.
• Monitor project questions, costs, and billing; ensure projects stay within budgets.
• Collaborate with internal departments to meet project requirements.
• Develop plans for multiple complex ROW projects and track progress.
• Generate status reports and contribute to winning repeat business.
