Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II in Somerville, MA to respond to service requests, prep units for move-ins, and maintain property exterior and grounds.

The role emphasizes strong trades skills and customer service, with a requirement of five in-office days weekly and roving duties to other properties as needed. You will diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, manage preventive maintenance, and assist with REAC/HQS inspections

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or 3 years of progressive responsibility preferred.
• Experience in property management or hospitality is advantageous.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred; industry certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, masonry, painting, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and monitor vendor tasks for building systems.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new residents and maintain grounds.
• Assist with REAC/HQS inspections and maintain inventory and shop safety.
• Work weekends/on-call rotation and support the Maintenance Supervisor.
