Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II to respond to service requests, perform interior, exterior and site maintenance, and prepare apartments for move-ins. The role emphasizes strong customer service and collaboration with the maintenance team.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of hands-on repair experience in multiple trades, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Some REAC/HQS experience and trade certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of advanced hands-on repair experience in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry-Trade certifications (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with PPE and general maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs for appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly as directed by the Community Manager or Service Manager.
• Monitor vendor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems, equipment and components.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces through cleaning, trash management, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Prepare and repair for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain shop and inventory with safety mindset and PPE.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency service calls.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
