Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. seeks a Service Technician II in Worcester, MA. Under the Service Maintenance Manager, you will respond to service requests, prepare apartments for turnover, and maintain property interiors, exteriors, and grounds with strong trades skill and customer-service focus.

This role requires five days in the office and independence, plus on-call rotations and weekend duties. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on repair across building trades and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school or 3+ years in property management or hospitality.
• Minimum 3 years of advanced hands-on repair in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry-trade certifications (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting; basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Complete or monitor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems, equipment and components.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections.
• Maintain maintenance shop and inventory with PPE/safety.
• Weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency duties.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
