Qualifications

• Experience in sharpening tools or cutting tools is preferred.
• Ability to translate customer needs into practical service and tooling recommendations.
• Strong sales, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication, including professional phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with woodworking, cabinet, millwork, and manufacturing customers.
• Visit customer facilities several days each week to service routes and develop new business.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery of saw blades, router bits, knives, and cutters for sharpening or repair.
• Evaluate applications and recommend sharpening services, tooling, and related supplies.
• Discuss tool performance, cut quality, service intervals, and customer concerns with customers and production teams.
• Prepare quotes, enter orders, confirm specs, and communicate pricing/turnaround expectations.
• Collaborate with sharpening and tooling staff to document customer requirements.
• Follow up on completed work and identify opportunities to improve tool life and productivity.
• Maintain route, account, sales, and service records.
