Job summary

Arvato is seeking a Transport Planner to plan and schedule outbound shipments for the company-owned fleet in Fargo, ND. You will build dispatch schedules, assign drivers, confirm delivery appointments, and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure timely departures.

You will track routes, monitor performance, and report KPIs while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA rules. The role requires flexibility for overtime and varied shifts in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation scheduling, dispatch, or route planning.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements and hours-of-service.
• Ability to perform under stressful conditions.
• Customer-oriented with professional communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and follow instructions/procedures.
• Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and different shifts.
• Preferred: experience dispatching or planning routes for a private or dedicated delivery fleet.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily outbound shipments for the company-owned fleet.
• Build daily and weekly dispatch schedules by customer window, service level, and geography.
• Assign drivers and vehicles, balancing hours-of-service limits and capacity.
• Confirm delivery appointments with customers and communicate changes promptly.
• Coordinate with warehouse outbound teams to ensure timely departures.
• Track trucks in transit and re-route to maintain service levels.
• Prepare shipping documents and proof of delivery.
• Arrange third-party carrier coverage when volume exceeds fleet capacity.
• Report on KPIs like on-time delivery and fleet utilization.
• Support fleet readiness with maintenance, DOT inspections, fuel, and vehicle availability.
• Communicate issues with drivers and Client Services to resolve discrepancies.
