Job summary

Recology Blossom Valley Organics - South in Lamont, CA, seeks an Operations Supervisor for the Organics Facility. You will supervise operations personnel, route drivers, and monitor work to ensure efficient and safe service delivery.

Responsibilities include assigning routes and balancing workloads, analyzing routes, enforcing safety policies, resolving customer issues with drivers, and generating operational reports.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Bilingual preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Management experience in waste industry/recycling programs, transportation, production and logistics operations or related field.
• Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Assigns employees to routes and balance workload; arranges coverage for absences or equipment issues.
• Ensures accountability of route completions and analyzes routes for improvements.
• Monitors work to ensure efficiency; enforces safety policies and procedures.
• Resolves customer service problems with drivers and handles complaints and inquiries.
• Recommends rate adjustments and assists in billing disputes with management approval.
• Generates and analyzes operational reports and makes recommendations.
• Maintains knowledge of rates to support accurate customer billing and delinquent account follow-up.
• Performs or reviews pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Investigates and reports on injuries, accidents, and other incidents.
• Maintains time records and attendance; provides feedback as needed.
• Drives trucks as needed; may dispatch or back-up dispatch duties.
