Job summary

GreenSpace Recycling is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Puget Sound field team and optimize day-to-day operations. This hands-on role involves working around trucks and outdoor work, with some administrative tasks done remotely.

The position requires 2+ years in a supervisory role, a valid driver’s license, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The role offers salary in the $80k–$90k range with a hybrid balance of field and admin work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree in business administration preferred.
• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role (≥2 years of supervision).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and improve field processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Balance hands-on field work with administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Pre-employment checks: references, MVR, drug screen, and medical certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations to ensure service quality and efficiency.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and coach operations team members, including scheduling and performance reviews.
• Cover open routes and complete weekly ride-alongs.
• Coordinate with leadership, field teams and support staff to meet client expectations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase safety and productivity.
• Monitor expenses, control costs, and report on operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT and OSHA safety standards, including safety audits.
• Handle escalated client issues and support growth and service expansion.
