Job summary

Rumpke of Ohio is seeking a Route Foreman to supervise a team of drivers and ensure safe, efficient waste collection services in the Cincinnati area. You will monitor routes, assist with dispatch, and ensure DOT hours of service compliance while maintaining driver logs and vehicle inspections.

The role emphasizes problem solving, independence, and reliable leadership to meet safety and productivity goals. This position requires a valid Class B CDL, DOT Medical Card, and ability to work nights

Qualifications

1-2 years’ experience driving with CDL required; lead role experience preferred.
Knowledge of area with the ability to read maps.
Must have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
Previous waste industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist management with daily activities of route drivers, including observations and inspections.
Ensure routes are completed by assigned drivers; re-route as needed.
Resolve missed stops with dispatch, drivers, and office staff.
Assign and track daily work orders to drivers.
Ensure drivers complete paperwork per DOT regulations and company policy.
Assist with customer service issue resolution.
Monitor Hours of Service regulations and assist logs as needed.
Maintain safety/quality standards and productivity goals.
Assist with delivery of containers.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and logs.
Maintain drivers’ logs.
Assist with minor accident investigations and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
