Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher to communicate with drivers, resolve on-route issues and handle incoming service orders. You will direct drivers, interact with customers and use GFL proprietary software to enter tickets and track productivity.

Responsibilities include scheduling service changes, dispatching calls by route, checking driver end-of-day paperwork, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure service quality. Strong communication and multi-tasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school; post-secondary coursework/diploma asset.
• 1–2 years in transportation, dispatch or customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word; typing speed.
• TRUX experience preferred or willingness to learn TRUX.

Responsibilities

• Schedule service and satisfy customer needs for changes.
• Dispatch calls to routes based on route and driver location.
• Perform driver check-ins and ensure paperwork completion.
• Distribute and review route sheets for end-of-day data entry.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues.
• Interacts with customers, customer service, sales and operations staff.
• Field incoming calls/emails from customers and troubleshoot issues.
• Determine daily driver staffing levels for responsiveness and productivity.
