Job summary

Greenmark Waste Solutions in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Route Manager responsible for supervising collection operations, driver supervision, and delivering safe, efficient service. You will lead the team, manage routes, and ensure DOT/OSHA compliance while driving customer satisfaction and strong workplace culture.

The role emphasizes safety, coaching, performance management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize routes and control labor costs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in operations.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; knowledge of safety, USDOT regulations, and OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drivers and helpers, monitor performance, provide feedback and issue disciplinary actions.
• Ensure driver safety training, safety planning, and incident reporting.
• Conduct morning safety briefings, safety meetings, and audits; launch drivers each morning.
• Schedule shifts, plan for call-ins/no shows, and report department metrics.
• Maintain driver qualification files and ensure DOT compliance.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure safe procedures.
• Receive and follow up on customer complaints regarding collection programs.
• Manage route optimization and labor costs.
• Assist with fleet maintenance and pre/post trip inspections.
• Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure budget and operating plans.
• Ensure DOT/OSHA compliance standards are met.
• Develop and maintain a best-in-class team and workplace culture; drive performance development.
