Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Helper to support drivers, loading and unloading residential and commercial containers while delivering exceptional customer service on every route.

This role requires physical stamina to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, strict adherence to safety protocols in all weather conditions, and a willingness to participate in ongoing training to learn Casella's products, services, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs consistently.
• Legal to work in the United States.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and empty containers into the truck manually or mechanically.
• Maneuver containers at curbside, dockside, carryout, or when pullouts are needed.
• Operate hoisting device to lift and empty bins into the hopper.
• Return serviced bins to their original location with covers on.
• Assist driver with backing maneuvers on route.
• Load trash and recycling into a rear-load truck in varying weather conditions.
• Lift 50 pounds constantly and maintain stamina for a physically demanding role.
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
• Communicate professionally with customers and other employees.
• Participate in training and learning opportunities to advance knowledge of the company and services.
