Job summary

Conti Federal is seeking a Project Engineer to join the field management team in Washington. The role focuses on subcontractor management, submittals, buyout, client relations, and robust cost estimation to improve profits against the bid.

Rotational travel may be required for three weeks at a time with a weekend home. The candidate should have a strong background in construction management and leadership to drive safe, on-time project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field; three+ years experience, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
• Experience with cost tracking, subcontracts, vendor requisitions, and change orders.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Primavera P3, and related construction software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety procedures are followed and address non-compliance.
• Support quality management and project documentation.
• Develop construction means/methods with Supervision to optimize safety, cost, and schedule.
• Manage foremen's reports and ensure accurate data before entry of income, cost, or inventory.
• Monitor material yields and minimize waste; assist buyout process and communications.
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress and identify issues.
• Prepare 12-month cash flow schedules and update budgets for owner changes.
• Oversee subcontractors, coordinate meetings, and track submittals and certifications.
• Develop four-week look-ahead schedules and align resources and milestones.
• Participate in daily huddles and build strong client relationships; support business development.
