Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an expert Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join our industrial operations team in Upington. You will oversee specification, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors to maximize uptime and efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, 7+ years in rotating equipment, and hands-on experience with predictive maintenance, RCFA, and API standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of rotating equipment experience in industrial settings.
• Deep knowledge of pumps, compressors and turbines.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography).
• Familiarity with API standards and industry codes.
• Willingness to work on-site in Upington.

Responsibilities

• Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment for projects and replacements.
• Develop and implement maintenance and reliability strategies for rotating machinery.
• Conduct RCFA and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and start-up of new equipment.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for rotating equipment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
