Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team in Upington. The role covers specification, design, installation, and maintenance of pumps, compressors, and turbines to ensure reliability and optimal performance of critical assets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, has at least 5 years' experience with rotating equipment, and is proficient in predictive maintenance, vibration analysis, and relevant API/ASME codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and vibration analysis.
Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and codes (API/ASME).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment based on project needs.
Oversee installation, commissioning, and performance testing.
Develop maintenance strategies including predictive and preventive programs.
Troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
Provide technical support to maintenance teams and review vendor designs.
