Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Heavy Machinery Maintenance Technician for mining and earthmoving operations near Upington, Northern Cape. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure maximum equipment availability to support safety and efficiency on site.

The role requires a Qualified Artisan with 5+ years post-qualification experience, strong welding/fabrication skills, and the ability to work independently in remote

Qualifications

• Qualified Artisan with trade certification.
• Post-qualification experience in heavy machinery maintenance (min 5 years).
• Experience in mining/construction environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems and hydraulic circuits.
• Weld, fabricate and perform general mechanical repairs on machinery.
• Read manuals, blueprints and diagnostic data accurately.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain service records.
