Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I to perform maintenance on LUH-72 A&P helicopters in California. The role covers removal/installation of major subsystems, lubrication, and preparation for inspections.

Candidates must have FAA A&P certification and a track record in rotary-wing maintenance. The position requires compliance with safety standards, reliability with tool use, and willingness to work various shifts with potential travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• FAA A&P Certificate required for FAA certified aircraft maintenance.
• Three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned MDS in the last six years.
• Must provide own tools/toolbox, tools shadowed and etched with PID.
• Must be able to obtain a passport and travel internationally for OCONUS work sites.

Responsibilities

• Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and flight controls.
• Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
• Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
• Performs scheduled inspections and assists in special inspections.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft subsystems with required tools and equipment.
