Job summary

Amentum is seeking an LUH72 Aircraft Mechanic I - NON A&P to troubleshoot and repair aircraft structures, engines, and subsystems. You will perform scheduled inspections, read technical manuals, and use precision tools to ensure airworthiness.

This role requires hands-on maintenance, tool ownership, and adherence to safety and credentials policies. Qualified candidates will have aviation maintenance experience, including rotary wing work, and the ability to obtain A&P certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain A&P Certification prior to starting employment.
• Three (3) years of aviation maintenance experience with two (2) years on rotary wing aircraft and LUH-72.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials; US Citizenship required.
• Tools are required; must provide own tools and toolbox; tools must be shadowed and etched with PID.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair aircraft structures, including wings and fuselage, and components such as rigging and hydraulic units.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering data to determine repair methods.
• Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, and periodic inspections on aircraft systems and engines.
• Inspect jet engine turbine blades for cracks and wear; test engine operation with specialized equipment.
• Replace or repair worn components, disassemble and reassemble engines, and reinstall on aircraft.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections and record work performed.
• May supervise jacking and towing operations and service engines and airframe components.
