Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a patient food service worker to serve meals and snacks to patients, deliver room service, and help keep supplies stocked for prompt, patient-focused service.

You will collaborate with nursing staff, nutrition techs and dietitians, handle telephone orders, use computerized diet sheets, verify diet parameters, and ensure HACCP guidelines are followed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Direct customer service experience preferred.
• Previous food service experience and/or work with therapeutic diets preferred.On-the-job training provided.

Summary

Performs a variety of duties involved with food service for patients. Serves meals and snacks to patients in a professional manner. Ensures rotation of floor supplies and maintains supplies up to PAR (Periodic Automatic Replenishment) levels. Delivers appropriate room service menus to patients, instructing patients on meal ordering systems. Assesses patients' ability to utilize the meal order system.

Possesses excellent customer service skills continuously. Displays listening skills and effectively communicates with co-workers, supervisors and nursing staff. Establishes effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and nursing staff. Evaluates and maintains quality control standards.
