Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is now actively seeking a dynamic Line Cook.

Line cooks are responsible for preparing all menu items during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and event services. Their daily focus is learning and perfecting techniques, speed, and consistency. They are vital to every outlet.

Responsibilities and Authorities
  • Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations
  • Maintain honesty & integrity
  • Deliver outstanding service and create memorable experiences
  • Coordinate and multi-task job duties in an active environment
Specific Duties
  • Prepare assigned food items following recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Set up stations with appropriate par levels and restock items
  • Ensure freshness and correctness of mise en place on their station
  • Prepare ingredients or recipes as directed by the Sous Chefs
  • Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and organized
  • Possess strong cooking skills and knowledge of food service equipment
  • Follow sanitary food handling procedures
  • Work calmly under pressure
  • Obtain Executive Chef's taste and sign-off on every item before storage
  • Practice proper food cooling and storage procedures
  • Manage tools and equipment responsibly
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of line cook experience in NYC at a comparable restaurant or hotel
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours
Knowledge
  • Good knife skills
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment such as vita prep, robo coup, ovens, and burners

Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
