Job summary

The Zildjian Company in Norwell, MA is seeking a Rolling Mill Assistant to support our metalworking operations. This full-time role covers 1st and 2nd shifts, with duties including loading castings, handling hot metals, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will follow documented work instructions, assist teammates, and keep production records. A high school diploma and at least 3 months in manufacturing are preferred, with a strong focus on safety in a high-temperature environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• At least 3 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Frequently lifting castings weighing up to 16 lbs. and loading them onto a tray during a 10-hour shift.
• Pick red-hot castings off trays with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill.
• Change dies with use of various tools.
• Use pliers to grab and pull blank out of press and toss into quench tank on angle.
• Frequent bending and twisting.
• Constant exposure to hot environment.
• Maintain established quality and quantity standards.
• Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
• Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Maintain daily production and other records as required.
• Provide assistance to other team members as requested by team leader.
• Perform other related duties as required or directed.
