POSITION SUMMARY: Perform Rolling Mill duties including loading castings, pick red-hot castings off trays with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill. Follow documented work instructions to perform each task with a focus on safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work under general supervision, proceeds along on regular duties, referring to questionable cases to supervisor or others.
EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. At least 3 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, and/or LICENSES: Awareness of OSHA & Safety standards. Knowledge of lean manufacturing a plus.
REASONING ABILITY: Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, decimals, fractions, simple arithmetic that is involved in carrying out work instructions.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Challenging working conditions due to high temperatures and humidity. Countermeasures are in place to maximize work comfort. Continuous mental and visual attention is required due to repetitive work and diversified operations in a high complexity environment. Required to walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration, water, and oil but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Employee is required to wear safety glasses, safety gloves and ear protection as well as other PPE specific to their activities.
