Job summary

MRO Corporation seeks an ROI Specialist to support client sites with Release of Information requests. You will determine records to release, review HIPAA guidelines, and collect data from multiple sources to fulfill patient requests.

You will also handle inquiries by phone, assist walk-in customers, log and scan records, and process physician office requests. Cash handling at select sites may apply, with strict compliance to policies.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computer applications; 1+ years data entry experience; internet use required.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Strong verbal communication; responsive to customer inquiries.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated dependability.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ROI experience in a physician office or HIM background is a plus.
• HIPAA knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information per HIPAA guidelines and obtaining patient data from various sources.
• Answer phone calls concerning ROI issues.
• Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log information into ROI On-Line database.
• Respond and process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information to physician offices.
• Log medical record requests into ROI On-Line database.
• Scan medical records into ROI On-Line database.
• Comply with site facility policies and regulations.
• At sites, handle and record cash payments for requests.
• Other duties as assigned.
