Job summary

MRO is seeking an ROI Specialist to support at client sites for Release of Information requests for patient medical records. You will review requests, determine records to release, and enter data into the ROI On-Line database while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include answering ROI inquiries by phone, assisting walk-ins, processing physician office requests, logging and scanning records, and maintaining documentation in the ROI system.

Qualifications

• One or more years experience entering data into computer systems. Experience using the internet is required.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals established by MRO.
• Strong verbal communication skills; demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries.
• Attention to detail in handling records and data.
• Dependability in a client-facing role.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Prior ROI experience in a physician's office or HIM department is a plus; HIPAA knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requests to determine which records to release per HIPAA guidelines.
• Answer phone calls concerning ROI issues.
• Assist walk-in customers and log information into the ROI On-Line database.
• Process physician office requests and fax information as needed.
• Log medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database and scan records.
• Comply with site policies and regulations.
• Handle and record cash payments at specified sites (where applicable).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
