Job summary

MRO is seeking an ROI Specialist to support client sites in processing patient records requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. You will determine records to release, verify requester information, and retrieve data from electronic or physical sources, ensuring accuracy and privacy.

You will answer ROI inquiries by phone, handle walk-in requests, log and scan records into ROI On-Line, and assist physician offices with prioritized requests while complying with site policies.

Qualifications

• One or more years experience entering data into computer systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Strong verbal communication skills; demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries.
• Attention to detail; proven dependability.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred; Release of Information experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information per HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent data from various sources.
• Answer phone calls concerning ROI issues.
• Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log information into ROI On-Line database.
• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information as needed.
• Log medical record requests into ROI On-Line database; scan records into ROI On-Line database.
• Handle and record cash payments for requests where required.
• Comply with site facility policies and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
