Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support rocket engine test campaigns and hardware development. You will create work instructions, manage test plans, and provide hands‑on guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering with 3+ years of hardware manufacturing experience, strong CAD/office software skills, and a proven ability to deliver on schedule while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of applicable experience in hardware manufacturing or test operations.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in hardware manufacturing including maintenance, assembly, and testing.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate clearly at all levels and foster inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage work instructions and test plans for daily test operations.
• Provide technical direction to technicians for hardware removal and replacement.
• Support test setup activities and general test and hardware assistance.
• Define maintenance, inspection, and repair activities across test campaigns.
• Manage hardware configuration and pedigree throughout testing.
• Ensure availability of hardware and critical spares for upcoming activities.
• Review and disposition non-conformances; implement corrective actions.
• Research improvements to tooling, safety, and quality in build/test processes.
• Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
• Perform engineering drawing reviews and feedback to design/manufacturing teams.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Support cost, quality, and schedule management of hardware.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
