Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a manufacturing/engineering professional to support rocket engine test hardware development, maintenance, and acceptance testing. You will develop and release work instructions, manage test plans, track hardware configuration, and document non-conformances to keep campaigns safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of applicable experience in manufacturing or engineering roles.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Hands-on hardware manufacturing experience including maintenance, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, leak testing, and final acceptance testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.; ability to gain access to Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage work instructions and test plans for daily test operations, test article maintenance, and related activities.
• Provide technical direction to technicians for hardware removal, replacement, and hands-on activities.
• Provide general test and hardware assistance, including supporting test setup activities.
• Define and support test article maintenance, inspection, repair, and rework throughout test campaigns.
• Manage hardware configuration and pedigree throughout the test process.
• Ensure hardware availability for upcoming activities and help maintain critical spares lists.
• Review, evaluate, and disposition non-conformances; implement corrective actions and recovery strategies.
• Research and develop improved methods, tooling, and systems to increase test cadence and reliability.
• Drive improvements in tooling, safety, and quality linked to build and test processes.
• Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure proper manufacturing, processing, packaging, and delivery on time and on budget.
• Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Support cost, quality, and schedule management of hardware during testing.
