Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient manufacturing systems, ensuring quality control throughout production. You will optimize the supply chain logistics for Production/Operations and drive reductions in cost and cycle time.

The role requires collaboration with design, QA, and production teams, development of thorough work instructions, and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies to advance spaceflight capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer experience.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT) to build reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission.
• Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; implement corrective actions to enhance reliability and performance.
