Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead standardization and develop manufacturing processes for rocket engine testing. You will mentor engineers, drive Kaizen events, and define work instructions, tooling, and acceptance testing plans to scale operations at our Huntsville facilities.

You’ll collaborate across Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality and Mission Assurance, and you’ll travel up to 25% to support multiple test sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of manufacturing or test experience.
• Expert level experience in hardware manufacturing: assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing/Integration principles.
• Experience with configuration management and requirements management processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor manufacturing engineers to enable a transformational organization.
• Serve as SME on Strategic Planning team to guide decision-making.
• Set standards for fabrication specifications, acceptance & test plans, and work statements.
• Define and develop critical manufacturing processes for configuration management and testing.
• Lead kaizen and process-improvement initiatives across Test Operations.
