Inside the Role

Purpose/Function: Operate, test, and maintain unmanned, automated, servo-mechanical, or electromechanical equipment. Assist engineers in testing and designing robotics equipment.

Pay: Up to $38.37/hr, depending on experience and skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble components using hand tools, fixtures, and microscopes.
  • Analyze test results and document findings.
  • Install electrical and electronic parts using soldering and hand tools.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Test electromechanical assemblies with test instruments.
  • Ensure parts meet specifications with precision measurement tools.
  • Develop, test, and program robots and PLCs.
  • Operate metalworking machines for fabrications.
  • Train others on robot installation and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in English language, including spelling, grammar, and composition.
  • Knowledge of machinery, tools, and electronic equipment.
  • Understanding of circuit boards, processors, and software applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical plans and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adjust machine controls precisely.
  • Routine maintenance skills and equipment management.
Training Requirements
  • Safety, Quality System, Hazardous Waste Management, TOS, Lock-out/Tag-out, Confined Space, Elevated Work.
Physical Demands
  • Light to medium effort, including lifting and moving materials.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Kneeling or crouching as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and muscular endurance.
  • Work at heights may be required.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safety glasses, goggles, face shield, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and possibly respirators.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing/shop setting.
  • May involve entering confined spaces with permits.
