Inside the Role

Purpose/Function

Operate, test, and maintain unmanned, automated, servo-mechanical, or electromechanical equipment. Assist engineers in testing and designing robotics equipment.

Skilled Trades position offers up to $38.37/hr.

Pay depends on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, and microscopes.
  2. Analyze and record test results; prepare testing documentation.
  3. Install electrical and electronic parts using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  4. Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders for assembly procedures.
  5. Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  6. Test electromechanical assemblies with test instruments like oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
  7. Verify dimensions and clearances with precision measuring instruments.
  8. Develop, test, and program robots and PLCs.
  9. Operate metalworking machines for fabrications.
  10. Train others on robot installation, use, and maintenance.
  11. Perform duties to prescribed standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • English language skills, including spelling, grammar, and composition.
  • Knowledge of machinery, tools, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment, circuit boards, processors, and software.
  • Ability to read technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adjust machine controls precisely.
  • Ability to obtain and use equipment and materials effectively.
  • Routine maintenance skills and troubleshooting abilities.
