Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 9+ years of professional software development experience in industrial robotics or automation.
• Expert‑level C# and OO design skills with production applications.
• Deep experience with .NET, Dependency Injection, WPF, and MVVM; multi‑module architectures.
• Experience with Visual Studio and Git; CI/CD and code reviews.
• Hands‑on experience integrating 6‑axis industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa).
• Proven track record delivering motion planning and collision avoidance for robotic cells.
• Experience with machine vision using OpenCV, Cognex, Keyence, and 3D vision.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for software of robotic automation projects from feasibility through deployment, translating needs into requirements and a technical plan.
• Define software problems and break scope into well‑scoped tasks; assign to team members and track progress.
• Serve as the primary technical consultant for the project team, including customers.
• Help develop software effort estimates for projects and proposals; flag changes early.
• Architect the project application in C#, .NET, WPF, MVVM on top of the common platform.
• Lead robot integration for the cell on Fanuc and other 6‑axis robots; coordinate with PLCs and sensors.
• Decide which device‑integration components become reusable across projects; define integration patterns.
• Own motion planning for the full cell, including trajectory generation and collision avoidance.
• Lead 3D vision and localization; ensure vision, calibration, and motion subsystems meet accuracy.
• Define accuracy and cycle‑time budgets; design validation tests.
• Implement and verify software for cell safety with Fanuc DCS or equivalent; coordinate with controls.
• Drive cell‑level performance and reliability; diagnostics for field issues.
• Lead on‑site commissioning and troubleshooting; mentor others through design reviews.
• Mentor team members through reviews and pairing on difficult problems.
