Job summary

Viable Engineering Solutions is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer in Orlando, FL to lead the software for robotic automation projects from concept to deployment. You will define software problems, break them into tasks, and guide a team while remaining hands-on with motion planning, 3D vision, calibration, and system integration.

The role requires expert C# and .NET skills, with heavy emphasis on WPF, MVVM, robot integration, and vision systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/Robotics or related field.
• 9+ years of professional software development in industrial robotics/automation.
• Expert-level C# and OO design with production apps.
• Deep experience with .NET, DI, WPF, MVVM; architecture decisions for multi-module apps.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Git, and branching strategies.
• Strong math including linear algebra, kinematics, and coordinate transforms.
• Hands-on with 6-axis robots (Fanuc/ABB/KUKA/Yaskawa) in delivered systems.
• Experience in motion planning, collision avoidance, and vision (3D/2D).
• Knowledge of sensors, PLCs, and industrial comms; leading small teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead software for robotic automation projects from feasibility to deployment.
• Define software problems, break scope into tasks, and assign to team members.
• Serve as primary technical consultant to customers and project team.
• Develop software effort estimates for projects and proposals.
• Architect the application in C#, .NET, WPF and MVVM on the platform.
• Lead robot integration for cell with Fanuc and other 6-axis robots.
• Own motion planning, trajectory generation, collision avoidance, and calibration.
• Lead 3D vision and localization, ensuring system-wide accuracy.
• Define accuracy and cycle-time budgets; design validation tests.
• Implement and verify software safety features (Fanuc DCS, safety I/O).
• Drive cell-level performance, fault handling, and diagnostics.
• Lead on-site commissioning and field issue root-cause analysis.
• Mentor team through design/code reviews and problem solving.
