Job summary

Viable Engineering Solutions seeks a Robotics Controls Engineer III to own robot programming, device integration, and commissioning for robotic cells. Independent work from simulation to startup, with deep expertise in industrial robotics, motion, vision, and PLC integration.

You will develop and test applications in FANUC ROBOGUIDE, simulate for clearance, and collaborate with software, mechanical, and maintenance teams to improve safety and production efficiency. Orlando, FL area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years industrial automation with at least 3 years programming robots.
• Strong FANUC programming with teach pendant.
• Experience with FANUC ROBOGUIDE or similar offline programming.
• Experience integrating Cognex/Keyence vision with robots.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and PLC I/O drawings.
• Troubleshooting robot motion and communications.

Responsibilities

• Own robot programming and controls for assigned portions of cells.
• Define sequence, I/O, and acceptance criteria with project team.
• Develop, test, and simulate robotic apps in FANUC ROBOGUIDE.
• Create/optimize robot programs for material handling and assembly.
• Integrate vision systems and sensors, including robot-to-camera calibration.
• Interface robots with PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, and networks.
• Set up robot frames, payloads, and measure accuracy.
• Diagnose faults and lead root-cause analysis.
• Commission, start up, and test portions on site.
• Adhere to safety configurations and document changes.
• Maintain robot program docs and backups.
• Participate in reviews and mentor teammates.
