Job summary

NEURA Robotics is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Core Robot Software group to grow a team of robotics software engineers and shape career development. You will focus on people, not architecture, guiding growth, performance and well-being across multiple specialisations in robotics software.

You will own hiring end-to-end, conduct fair promotion reviews, and partner with Staff Engineers to ensure the team can meet hardware deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience overseeing at least 6 engineers.
• Proven track record of developing engineers and advancing their careers.
• Experience running performance improvement processes to raise performance.
• Full ownership of end-to-end hiring for technical roles.
• Software engineering background enabling credible technical conversations with robotics teams.
• Prior management in embedded systems, robotics, or related hardware-software domains is a strong advantage.
• Clear, direct English communication (written and verbal).
• Sound judgment under ambiguity with accountability.
• Experience sustaining a team through hardware development deadlines and product launches.
• Low ego; success measured by engineers' growth and delivery.
• Organisational sensibility and ability to operate where management and technical authority are separated.

Responsibilities

• Own every engineer's career trajectory with a live understanding of progress and blockers.
• Run promotion reviews based on evidence, assemble fairness-focused panels.
• Identify and address performance issues early with concrete improvement plans.
• Conduct regular 1:1s focused on personal development.
• Monitor wellbeing and surface burnout or disengagement early.
• Own end-to-end hiring for open roles and ensure smooth onboarding in 90 days.
• Represent team interests in leadership planning; surface resourcing and morale signals.
• Collaborate with Staff Engineers to align people strategy with technical leadership.
