Job summary

Divergent is seeking an Industrial Robotics Engineer to join the Robotics & AI Software team in Torrance, CA. You will work closely with automation and software engineers to develop and implement innovative algorithms for task and motion planning plus computer vision in robotic systems.

You will design, implement, and optimize software solutions for robot planning, verification, and testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience.
Proficient in C++ and Python; strong data structures and algorithms knowledge.
Fundamental understanding of industrial robotics, including kinematics & dynamics, trajectory generation, and protocols.
Experience with robotic planning software such as MoveIt and ROS; CI/CD and containers.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software development best practices for high-quality code and releases.
Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration with other products.
Work with senior engineers to develop software for task and motion planning.
Design and optimize algorithms within the planning framework.
Assist in integrating and testing computer vision software for real-world performance.
Document code, algorithms, and procedures to support knowledge sharing.
Stay updated on advances in robot planning and technologies; contribute new ideas.
