Job summary

Divergent Technologies is seeking a Software Architect to lead design and architecture for a Robotics & AI Software Team in Torrance, CA. You will define system-level designs for real-time control, planning/optimization, and generative AI across multithreaded C++ and Python apps.

You will own end-to-end architectures, GUI solutions, and CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes, while mentoring cross-functional teams and enabling production deployments in a complex manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS/Robotics/AI or related field; 5+ years including architecture
• System architecture: scalable, reliable software systems
• Expert in modern C++ (C++17+) and Python; multithreaded, real-time design
• GUI for operator-facing diagnostics and control
• CI/CD, automated testing, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), build systems (CMake)
• ROS/ROS2, MoveIt integration for robotics control
• Planning/Optimization: SAT/SMT, constraints, PDDL
• Generative AI/agents: LLMs, multi-agent systems
• Cross-functional collaboration and mentoring
• Export control compliance and domain knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture for Robotics & AI Software Team
• Define system designs for real-time robotics control, planning, and AI pipelines
• Own architectures across C++/Python applications
• Architect GUI, diagnostics, monitoring, simulations, and calibration
• Integrate with ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, and factory sensors/systems
• Establish CI/CD, containers, and build systems across teams
• Mentor and review across controls, electrical, mechanical, and product
• Support production hardware integration and deployments
