Job summary

Framatome North America in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a robotics software engineer to design, test, and integrate autonomy features for teleoperated mobile robots used in non-destructive inspection.

You will work across Windows and Linux, with ROS2 preferred, contributing to sensor fusion, localization, and trajectory planning while mentoring newer engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable robotic solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related robotics experience.
• Hands‑on robotics software development on Windows and Linux; ROS2 experience preferred.
• Experience with sensor fusion, localization, and state estimation.

Responsibilities

• Design, debug, test, and review robotics systems with hardware-in-the-loop.
• Build and integrate subsystems for sensor fusion, perception, and autonomous deployment.
• Prototype localization and SLAM techniques.
• Develop trajectory planning for mobile robots.
• Diagnose sensor integration and timing issues.
• Take ownership of an application and mentor junior engineers.
