Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer in Warrendale, PA to design and develop advanced machine automation software. You will work on perception, mapping, and path planning, applying geometric methods, machine learning, and sensor fusion, and you'll integrate hardware with robust, production-ready systems.

You will collaborate with teams across hardware and software during prototyping, testing, and deployment, following best practices and agile processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
• Experience in robotics or autonomous vehicles, especially perception, path planning, and positioning.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python with hands-on experience.
• Experience developing algorithms using LiDARs, cameras, or radars.
• Proficiency working in Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine automation and autonomy software including perception, mapping, and path planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and deploy software into production.
• Design, implement, and unit test efficient, high-quality software following standards.
• Create interfaces to integrate sensors, controllers, and COTS components
• Conduct peer reviews and functional testing to support agile development
• Contribute to system and architectural design and practice Git version control
• Travel domestically and internationally as required
