Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Robotic Process Simulation Engineer to lead simulation activities across GM plants, connecting virtual models to real-world requirements from concept to Start of Production.

You will work with manufacturing and product engineering teams to improve safety, quality, cost, throughput, and launch readiness. The role emphasizes hands-on digital twins, offline programming, and collaboration with suppliers and sites, with travel about 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related engineering field.
• Experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1 environments.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process design, and process simulation.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware and software design.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the robotic process simulation scope for assigned programs or systems, ensuring virtual models accurately reflect real-world requirements.
• Define, document, and validate simulation requirements.
• Use virtual models to evaluate tooling, automation concepts, and line layouts before physical implementation.
• Translate simulation findings into technical requirements for engineers, sites, and suppliers.
• Collaborate to align simulation activities with business strategies and launch objectives.
• Travel to manufacturing and supplier sites as required, approximately 10%.
