Job summary

FANUC America Corporation seeks an Applications Engineer focused on Physical AI to support robot products across the FAC Central region, including MA, ME, NY, NJ, and beyond. You will lead technical efforts in AI, simulation, and remote collaboration with sales, engineering, and customers.

You will apply your robotics background, coding skills (Python, C++, ROS2), and experience with simulation tools to deliver robust, high-impact solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation with reading prints.
• Minimum 3 years in motion planning or related field.
• Experience with simulation/emulation software (Roboguide, RoboDK, MoveIT, Process Simulate).
• Strong coding skills in Python, C++, and CMake in distributed environments.
• Background in robotics, ROS planning, ROS2, networking, Docker and Linux.
• Ability to evaluate controls and trajectory optimization algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader for physical AI and virtual commissioning applications guiding customers, engineering teams, and sales.
• Visit key accounts to train and strengthen customer skillsets.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support including reviews, feasibility, simulations, demos, and troubleshooting.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, and communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop new applications and market opportunities through proof-of-concept testing.
• Support customers with setup/integration of robot options and vision systems.
