Job summary

DoorDash Labs, the independent robotics team, is seeking a Robotics Infrastructure Engineer for the Autonomy Software group. You will own and manage the onboard infrastructure that enables real-time aerial autonomy development, including process management, health monitoring, and parameterization.

You will also own the build system and middleware (ROS2), set up cross-compilation for Jetson targets, and design CI/CD pipelines with robust regression testing.

Qualifications

• Experience at a robotics company in a similar infrastructure role.
• Experience with robotics middleware (ROS2, LCM, eCal, Apex.AI).
• Experience with build systems and package managers (CMake, Bazel, Nix, Conan).
• Experience with NVidia Jetson and JetPack.
• Robotics logging and visualization tools (RViz, Foxglove, Rerun, Plotly).
• Strong C++ and Python skills, systems-level debugging.
• Proactive, capable of owning critical infrastructure layers.
• Interest in rendering and plotting robot internals and observability.

Responsibilities

• Own, build, and manage onboard infrastructure for aerial autonomy development.
• Develop and maintain critical onboard components: process management, health monitoring, configuration management, and message passing.
• Own the build system and ROS2 middleware, including cross-compilation for Jetson targets.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and regression testing infrastructure.
• Build the parameterization system, including schema definition, validation, migration, and deployment.
• Develop robotics logging, plotting, and debugging tools to boost team productivity.
• Collaborate with the simulation team to support SIL/HIL development workflows.
• Define reliability standards for onboard software: watchdogs, failover, and graceful degradation.
