Job summary

Amazon Robotics Technical Services is building a central hardware support function to keep the world's largest robotics fleet running. As Senior Manager, Hardware Development, you will lead multiple teams—Custom Tools, Retrofits, and Problem Management—and own hardware outcomes across the fleet.

You will set multi‑year strategy, partner across product engineering, deployment, field hardware support, safety, and supply chain, hire and grow leaders, and own headcount planning as the organization

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience.
• 10+ years of engineering team management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience developing and testing mechanical robotics equipment.
• Experience with DFx (cost, test, manufacturing).
• Experience in reliability/maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a multi-team hardware organization spanning Custom Tools, Retrofits, and Problem Management, plus individual contributors.
• Set the multi-year technical and organizational strategy for central hardware support across Amazon Robotics.
• Act as the central hardware authority partnering across product engineering, deployment, RME, field hardware support, safety, and supply chain teams.
• Build and develop leaders: hire, coach, and grow managers and senior ICs, and raise the engineering and operational‑excellence bar.
• Own headcount planning, team structure, and delivery accountability as the organization scales.
