Job summary

Tutor Intelligence, Inc. is hiring a Robotics Engineering Manager to lead the fleet engineering team that runs our robots after they ship. You will oversee software that shows robot activity, and ensure scalable operations across customer sites.

You will manage engineers and field staff, work with product teams to implement design changes, and communicate with customers when issues arise. This role reports to the CTO and offers generous salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Built robots that shipped and you understand the full stack: mechanics, electronics, firmware and software.
• Built tools or infrastructure for robots running in the field and deployed to robots while in use.
• Debugged a failure that crossed hardware and software boundaries.
• Managed engineers and non-engineers.
• Comfortable talking to customers whose robot is down.
• When something breaks twice, you change the thing that let it break.

Responsibilities

• Build the fleet platform: the software the team uses to see what robots are doing and act on it, and the data it produces.
• Build the instrumentation: decide what to measure and get it onto the robots when data is missing.
• Reduce how often a robot needs a person: measure it and build solutions to minimize human intervention.
• Close the loop to the robot: translate fleet data into design changes with product teams.
• Run the team: hire and manage engineers across hardware and software, plus the field support team and on‑call rotation.
• Face customers: be the engineer customers talk to when something is wrong and explain what changed.
