Job summary

Formic Technologies is seeking a Robotics Field Service Engineer to own technical issues on deployed robotic cells. You will diagnose failures, perform maintenance, and restore production at customer sites, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

This hands-on, high-accountability role requires travel up to 80% and overnight up to 50%. You will log activity in CMMS, coordinate with customers and vendors, and contribute to continuous improvement while building trusted relationships

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on field service in robotics or industrial automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using CMMS to track maintenance activity.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 80% and overnight up to 50%.
• Clear written and verbal communication with structured service docs.
• Committed to safety and disciplined field execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic cells.
• Respond to remote and on-site escalations; diagnose root causes and restore production.
• Provide hands-on technical support to operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity, asset updates, and spare part requirements in CMMS.
• Coordinate field scheduling with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance remotely using Formic dashboards and fleet tools
• Document service work, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions clearly.
• Identify recurring failure patterns and elevate systemic risks for improvement.
• Build professional relationships with plant managers and site personnel.
• Operate with strict safety standards, including LOTO and compliance.
• Participate in RCA sessions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Continuously expand depth across robotics, controls, networking, and industrial systems.
• Contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing across the team.
