Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN seeks a Robotics Engineer to own major autonomy features such as localization, planning, and control. You will advance SLAM with 2D/3D data, LiDAR and vision, and design robust multisensor fusion systems.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Perception, Embedded and Safety teams to deliver reliable robotic systems. You will work on verification, validation, and safety concepts, and support system bring-up on NVIDIA and ARM platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, robotics, computer science, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience for senior levels.
• Experience with SLAM, multi-sensor fusion, and autonomous planning.

Responsibilities

• Own autonomy features and robotic subsystems (localization, planning, control).
• Develop and optimize SLAM solutions using 2D/3D data, LiDAR, and vision.
• Design multisensor fusion systems (EKF/UKF/factor graphs).
• Develop planning/control (MPC, LQR, trajectory tracking).
• Plan experiments and define KPIs for accuracy, latency, and reliability.
• Collaborate across Perception, Embedded, Safety, and partners; mentor juniors.
