Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for the Robotics R&D team in Santa Clara, CA. You will design, prototype, test and integrate multi‑layer PCBA’s for surgical robotic platforms, working with mechanical, software and controls engineers on complex projects.

The internship emphasizes hands‑on development, documentation and mentorship, with growth opportunities across robotics hardware development.

Qualifications

• Education track: enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical, Robotics or Mechatronics and returning to school after internship.
• GPA 3.0 minimum across coursework.
• Availability to work full‑time (40 hours/week) and align with cohort dates.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prototype PCAs (PCBAs) for robotic elements, subsystems and testing fixtures.
• Provide documentation to support PCA designs, including reviews, studies, test results, and architecture documents.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop reliable designs for robotic tasks.
• Test, debug, and perform root cause analysis during bench testing and system integration.
• Present design concepts and participate in design reviews; contribute to clinical assessments of robotic devices.
