Job summary

Layup Parts in Huntington Beach is hiring a Robotics Engineer to lead the implementation and R&D of robotics systems on the production floor. You will move pick-and-place setups from design through bring-up into production, supporting lamination automation and trimming projects.

You’ll own the controls and robotics logic, collaborating with mechanical engineers for integration, and you’ll work across hardware, vision-based systems, and PLCs to drive fast, reliable automation on high-mix

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with robotic arms in industrial settings.
• Mechanical grounding with ability to own both design and bring-up of robotics systems.
• Experience with industrial/factory systems.
• Comfortable owning both the design and hands-on bring-up of robotics systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and bring into production new robotic systems supporting a range of manufacturing processes.
• Support lamination automations and related material handling applications.
• Collaborate on automated trimming systems currently in development.
• Own the controls and robotics logic side of new automation projects, working closely with mechanical engineers who handle assembly design and parts integration.
• Work across both hardware/actuator-focused implementations and vision-based systems (camera systems, object detection, and ML applications for robotics).
• Bring industrial robotics best practices to custom, high-mix manufacturing applications.
• Integrate robotic systems with PLCs and broader factory control systems.
